Restaurant Review: Misi New York

One of the hottest new restaurant’s in Brooklyn is Chef Missy Robbins (of Lilia fame)’s latest venture: Misi New York. Here the focus is pasta. With a small menu, there is not a lot to select from, but everything is very carefully curated. This is why former ADA Jared Mogil and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here this past February.

It would be criminal to come here without getting the charred marinated peppers with the whipped ricotta crostini.  The ricotta is so light and fluffy! I enjoyed the peppers on the side, but they can also top the ricotta bread.

The restaurant’s main focus is its pastas. We each ordered different pastas to share (très romantique!). On the left is the Spinach And Mascarpone Filled Tortelli, Brown Butter, Ricotta Salata. To the right, is the Mezze Rigatoni, 30 Clove Pomodoro, Basil.

After all of these rich pastas, it is relief to see the desserts are simple (but deliciously flavored) gelato. There is a rotating menu of six available, we tried the olive oil and also a chocolaty-pistachio flavor.

With long waits for a table, I would highly recommend making a reservation. We sat at the bar overlooking the open kitchen, it was really neat to see the chefs at work (possibly distracting). Although reservations are hard to come by for Chef Robbins’ Lilia, I am excited to try there next!
